Can't sleep
Seems that I'm sleeping much more lightly than ever before... But I still have the awful "deep sleeper" tendency to have trouble going back to sleep once I wake up. Grrrr! And having a sweet little nursling is a good way to ensure that I'm awake every few hours lol!
So, Saturday was {inter}National Scrapbooking Day (and Homebrew Day, as well), and I spent it running around like a crazy person! I was hoping to go visit a friend Saturday, but since Adron was out at Bosco's brewing with his friends, that kinda got bumped. I had to drop him off at 7:30, then had to have Audrey at cheerleading practice at 10. Unfortunately, that meant that I had to take all five kiddos with me, since Audrey and Adron are the only ones eligable to stay home without me lol! So, I took her to cheer and hung out there for 30 minutes or so, then headed to the church to drop off the other two girls for youth day. I got there about 15 minutes early, so we waited in the car for a bit, then they went in a little before 11. I headed from there back to the house, where I ran in, grabbed their Greek dance costumes, then headed back up to cheer practice to get Audrey. Sat in the van and nursed Jonah, who wasa starved nearly to death, picked Audrey up, and headed back to the church to drop her off for the rest of youth day. Poor Noah was exhausted and fell asleep in the car, despite promises of chicken nuggets. Headed back home, stopping by Burger King to pick up some lunch. Got home, woke Noah, persuaded him to come inside without my having to carry him, dragged Jonah in, and sat down to eat. Within 10 minutes, Adron was calling for me to come pick him up - I wasn't expecting him to be done for another hour! I told him he'd have to wait a few... I had spent the last 3 hours in the van, and Noah needed to eat his lunch. We went and picked him up, and came back home to wait for the girls to call us when dance practice was over. Around 4, I went to pick them up, and headed back home for the day.
Audrey wanted to know if I would take them to church Sunday, and either drop them off or wait in the parking lot until they were done, as they had Greek dance practice (again) after church. I told her I had driven enough for a whole week, and that was NOT going to happen lol! I wound up taking Jonah and the girls up to the church around noon yesterday, and they only danced for about 45 minutes, but they were looking GREAT! They practice again Wednesday and Thursday evening, and perform Friday night and twice on Saturday. Of course, Ellie has cheer Friday evening, and I should be getting the girls to church about 30 minutes before they have to dance - EEK! Audrey has cheer again on Saturday morning, so I guess I'm going to have to get Adron to drop her off and then bring her out to the church. Thankfully, the church is only 11 minutes west of our house! Unfortunately, cheer practice is about the same distance north east of us. Ah well, at least they are both pretty close!
This week is crazy busy, getting ready for the Greek Festival this weekend! I've only signed up to do a little bit, but I'm still going to be there an awful lot. In a few hours, I'm heading up there to help with festival stuff all morning. They are working again tomorrow morning, but I won't have anyone to watch Noah, so I prolly won't be able to help again. Wednesday, we are going up there as soon as the girls are home from school. We will be skewering meat, and the girls will be practicing in the midlle of all of that.
Friday is the carnival at Madeline's school, and since I'm on the PTA board, I REALLY need to be there. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to watch the kids then, either. Ellie will be fine - she's nearly kindergarten age already, and Jonah will be in a sling, hopefully sitting happily. Noah is just such a wild card! He's a sweet boy, but at 2 1/2, he really doesn't do well at staying put. Not sure what's going to happen there, but I'm willing to help as much as I can all morning. I will have to take off for the afternoon shift - babies will be in DIRE need of naps! Then, off to cheer practice and Greek fest.
Saturday, I'm working the festival all day, and thankfully there is a nursery so Ellie and Noah won't be bored and miserable the whole time. No way Noah will put up with me leaving him at home, and Ellie and Madeline have to be there so they can dance later. The bad part is that my best friend's baby shower is that afternoon, and with it being 45 minutes or so from the church, there is just no way I can sneak away to go :o( I am SOOOOOOOO upset about that! Any other weekend would have been doable! I can't begin to describe how heartbroken I am by this - we've been friends since I was 12 (and just before her 12th birthday), she's been there for the births of all 6 of my babies, she's always come to EVERYTHING we have going on, and she has always been there for me, no matter what! This is her 1st baby, and I am just giddy that I get a new little girl to love on!!!! I really need to get sewing for her lol! And making teeny tiny bows - how fun is that! Oooooh I just love baby shoes, particularly the litte girl ones!
Speaking of baby shoes, I can't find the ones I had set aside for Jonah. I had a pair of size 0 Keds - the cutest things EVER - and a pair of white leather look high top, lace up, crib shoes. All three girls and Noah have worn the crib shoes, and I am looking forward to putting them on Jonah, too. Oddly, all the newborn size socks have disappeared, too. I know for a fact I had them a couple days before Jonah arrived, but I have no earthly idea where I stashed them! Then, his whale t-shirt disappeared. I know I saw it last week, but can't find it now. Do we have gremlins or something? I guess that means I really need to do a thorough cleaning around here (yeah, my house is a mess), but I've really not had the energy to do much of that kind of thing. Drat it - I bet I'm not going to have time to do this until next week!
I'm going to try to get another 2 hours of sleep... Don't want Jonah to wake Adron, and I know it's about time to nurse him again :o)
